Central Florida foodie influencers and media will vote for the Critics Choice award, along with the Listeners Challenge competition, judged by the Jim, Deb, Jack & Rauce!

The Listener Chili Challenge!

We need three listeners to compete by making their chili live at the Best of Challenge on Saturday 10/4/25!

Competitors will be selected from Talkbacks sent to the Jim Colbert Show on Weds & Thu (10/1 & 10/2).

Listeners need to leave a Spicy Talkback describing their chili.

Here are the ingredients that will be on-hand this Saturday for the competitors:

Ground beef - 3lbs - 85/15 if possible

1lb mild Italian sausage

1lb Ground turkey

Onions - 6 large should do. 2 for each contestant

Garlic - a jar of pre-minced will be your best bet

Bell peppers - 6 will work

Chili Powder - 1 large container should work. Enough for each contestant to have 6 tablespoons.

Jalepenos - 3

Cumin - enough for 6 tablespoons per contestant

3 - 14.5oz cans of kidney beans

Beef stock - 2 large containers. Each contestant should get at least 2 cups

Vegetable stock - same

Tomato paste - 3 tubes

6 - cans of petite diced tomatoes 14.5 oz

3 - cans of crushed tomatoes 14.5 oz

Sugar 

Half and half

1 can of chipotle peppers
