Trump Tells Aides He's Decided to Remove Steve Bannon As Chief Strategist

The New York Times is reporting that President Donald Trump has decided to remove his chief strategist, Stephen Bannon from his position at the White House.

The Times article says Trump has told a number of senior aides that Bannon is out according to "two administration officials briefed on the discussion."

Rumors of Bannon's ouster were inflamed by an ominous tweet from Matt Drudge from the Drudge Report:  "Bannon had one hell of a run..."

According to the article, the president and senior White House officials were debating when and how to let Mr. Bannon go as Trump has been known to avoid confrontation within his inner circle.

Bannon has been working the media over the last few days giving interviews with statements about Charlottesville and how Republicans will beat Democrats in upcoming elections.

In an interview with The Washington Post on Wednesday, Bannon said that "leftist elites do not value history."

No official announcement regarding Bannon's status within the White House has been made.
