On February 22, at around 8:15 AM, Orange County Deputies observed a robbery suspect fleeing on foot northbound from the business towards the neighboring apartment complex (Woodridge Apartments.) As Deputies attempted to confront the suspect, he produced a firearm. The Deputy fired at the suspect, however it is not yet known if he was injured. The suspect scaled the wall of the apartment complex and continued to flee once inside. The suspect is described as a black male, early 20’s, approximately 5’7”- 5’8,” and around 135 pounds.
A perimeter was quickly established and several local law enforcement agencies responded to assist. Assisting agencies included the Orlando Police Department, Ocoee Police Department, Winter Garden Police Department, and Winter Park Police Department. No apprehension has been made at this time.
The suspect should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information regarding the suspect or his whereabouts is asked to call CRIMELINE at 1-800-423-TIPS.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office Shoot Team as well as Professional Standards Unit are also investigating the incident. The Deputy’s information will be released on Monday.
