Donate to the Slain Officer's Family
Chuck Nadd [the same Lt. Chuck Nadd that was welcomed home to Winter Park by Budweiser for their Super Bowl ad] - has set up a page for people to donate to the family of slain Orange County deputy, Jonathan Scott Pine. Officer Pine was 34 and a devoted husband and father of 3. Funds will go to help the family get through this tragedy and to help his kids' education.
Pine was killed in the line of duty after responding to a car burglary on Westminster Abbey Boulevard. Benjamin Holtermann was identified as the shooter in Pine's death and was found dead in the neighborhood with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Erica Pugh, Holtermann's girlfriends, was taken into custody by officers for questioning; she was with Holtermann at the time of the shooting.
Pugh was denied bond by county Judge Jerry Brewer, saying her participation in the armed robbery with Holtermann was sufficient enough to leave her in jail. Now, new Pugh faces new charges including four felonies. In addition of charges of aggravated assault of a firearm, grand theft of a motor vehicle, and burglary of conveyance, she also faces possession of a controlled substance and petit theft.
