Kansas, North Carolina, Virginia and Oregon are the number-one seeds for the NCAA Tournament. The Jayhawks earned the top overall seed after winning both the Big 12 regular-season and tournament titles. The Tar Heels, who entered the week ranked seventh in the "USA Today" Coaches' Poll, beat Virginia in the ACC championship game on Saturday. Ninth-ranked Oregon captured the Pac-12 regular-season title before knocking off Utah in the tournament final Saturday. The NCAA Tournament begins Tuesday with the First Four.
The Oregon Ducks (28-6) beat out Michigan State for a spot on the top line. The Spartans were widely viewed as a top seed, and their win over Purdue in the Big Ten tournament final did nothing to hurt their resume. Oregon's surprise was in keeping with one of the most unpredictable seasons ever. The top spot in The Associated Press poll changed hands six times - one short of the record.
