A judge has ordered the Florida Legislature to design a new congressional map for the Central Florida area that doesn't conflict with the state's anti-gerrymandering laws by August 15th. This order is in response to a ruling by Leon County Circuit Judge Terry Lewis in which 2 congressional seats being held by U.S. Representatives Daniel Webster (R - Winter Garden) and Corrine Brown (D - Jacksonville) were drawn with improper partisan intent.

The Florida Legislature starts the special session to draw the congressional map this Thursday all the way up until the deadline on August 15. The GOP-dominate legislature are preparing to fight if the elections are pushed back, a move that cause a legal nightmare with the thousands of absentee ballots already mailed in.
