Circuit Judge Luis Garcia ruled that the ban against gay marriage was unconstitutional, citing the 14th amendment and stating that the ban against equal marriage opportunities was a direct breaking of said amendment. The office of Pam Bondi, the Florida Attorney General, issued a notice of appeal which stopped the implementation statewide stating "Finality on this constitutional issue must come from the U.S. Supreme Court."  this is still a huge win for gay rights in Florida and it could very well lead to the allowance of gay marriage across the whole state. Currently the only county where gay marriage is legal is monroe county.
