November 23, 2012, 17-year-old Jordan Davis was shot dead in his car after Michael Davis, 47, confronted him over a dispute over loud rap music. Dunn's trial began this week with a north Florida jury hearing opening arguments Thursday; Dunn faces one count of first-degree murder, 3 counts of attempted first degree murder, and one count of firing a deadly missile in an occupied vehicle. If convicted, Dunn could spend the rest of his life in prison.

Taking a page from the Zimmerman case, the defense is taking the Stand Your Ground approach. Dunn's attornies claim the killing was justified because he feared for his life. However, as the Prosecution points out, Dunn initiated the confrontation therefore could have avoided the unfortunate incident had his temper been in check. But Dunn lost his cool which resulted in Davis losing his life.
