The church sits on land that is directly in the middle of the proposed site for the new soccer stadium, and church officials weren't too keen on selling. The City of Orlando originally offered the church $1.5 million for the property to which the church countered with a $35 million asking price. Orlando then offered $4 million and was answered with a $15 million counter-offer.

Now, the church gets nothing; Mayor Buddy Dyer approved a proposal to move the stadium site over one block, avoiding the property conflict altogether. Win - win, right? We still get the stadium and they get to keep the land.
