The NYPD has released shocking police body cam footage of the events leading up to the shooting of a domestic abuse suspect in November 2020.
After the suspect's wife had walked into the precinct to report the domestic violence case, two officers accompanied her back to the residence to collect her belongings.
The video shows the officers discussing a plan with the woman when suddenly her abusive husband runs into the home and fires at the officers and the victim.
Both officers were wounded, but were able to return fire and kill the gunman.
Mayor Bill de Blasio said in a statement, "I want to be crystal clear. Because these officers were there, that woman is alive"
