Storms in Egypt have unleashed a plague of scorpions from their nests, leaving 500 people hospitalized and three dead.

Torrential rain and snow have resulted in dust storms in southern Egypt, causing power outages and flooding. But it's also released a massive swarm of scorpions, snakes, and other animals, causing hundreds of injuries and even a few deaths as the creatures are forced from their natural habitats and wander into residential areas looking for shelter.

The Egyptian newspaper, Al-Ahram news, reported that the scorpions alone have caused the 500 hospitalizations and 3 deaths.

Doesn't this make Florida alligators seem a little less menacing?
