A former Texas teacher who was convicted of having a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old boy will face what some are saying is a lenient sentence.
Marka Lee Bodine will serve 60 days in jail and 10 years probation, in addition to having to undergo therapy and register as a sex offender. The teacher engaged in a relationship with the boy that lasted multiple years. It became physical when the boy just turned 13.
The district attorney initially asked the judge for 20-40 years in prison.
