Bartender Wins $50,000 After Getting Powerball Ticket For A Tip

Powerball Drawing On Wednesday For 750 Million Is One Of The Biggest Jackpots In Game's History

A bartender in Missouri is $50,000 richer after a customer left a winning Powerball ticket as a tip. Taylor Russey told the Missouri Lottery that the customer is a regular at Bleacher's Bar and would occasionally buy lottery tickets for the other patrons.

"One of the regulars will buy the rest of the regulars in the bar lottery tickets every now and then, especially when it's high," Russey said. "And he did that on Saturday -- he bought all of us lottery tickets."

When Russey showed up for work the next day, she learned that a winning ticket had been sold at the bar.

"I was like, 'Guys, who won all this money and didn't tell anybody?'" Russey joked.

That's when she remembered the customer had given her a ticket as a tip the night before. She scanned the slip and was shocked to realize she had the winning ticket.

Her numbers matched four of the five white-ball numbers, plus the Powerball, earning her $50,000.
