Habit Burger & Grill was selected as having the best fast food burger during USA TODAY's 10Best 2025 Awards on Wednesday (July 16).

The California-based chain's Double Char topped the annual list ranking America's best fast food burger for the second consecutive year.

"Charring burgers over an open flame since 1969, Habit Burger & Grill started in Santa Barbara, California, and has grown to include over 350 restaurants. Order the Double Char from the Habit's California-inspired menu and get ready for two freshly chargrilled beef patties, caramelized onions, fresh lettuce and tomato, pickles, and mayo on a toasted bun. You can also add cheese," USA TODAY wrote.

A&W's Papa Burger ranked second, followed by Jack in the Box's Jumbo Jack Cheeseburger, In-N-Out Burger's Double-Double and Culver's Double ButterBurger Cheese. USA TODAY's full list of the top 10 best fast food burgers is included below:

USA TODAY's 10Best editors worked alongside a panel of experts to nominate their picks, which were then selected by readers in a vote to determine the winners. Habit Burger & Grill also topped the 10Best list for the best fast casual restaurant in America. Del Taco was selected as the best fast food restaurant for the second consecutive year during the 10Best 2025 Awards.
