Parkland School Shooter Trial Delayed

There's another delay in the Parkland school shooter trial. Attorneys were expected to be back in the courtroom for a week of status hearings, but without a jury. The prosecution rested its case August 4th, and the defense isn't expected to start presenting theirs until August 22nd.

The Daubert hearing which was scheduled for Monday morning has been postponed until Tuesday afternoon. The hearing will give Judge Elizabeth Scherer a chance to evaluate the expertise of witnesses that may be called to testify when the defense starts to present its case.

No word on what caused the delay.

Jurors are deciding whether the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School killer should spend the rest of his life behind bars or face the death penalty for his crimes.
