A Bay City fitness enthusiast was videotaping herself trying out a new technique when her Achilles tendon snapped. The exercise, called high knees, involved lifting the knee diagonally across the chest and thrusting the arms down at speed.
At 0:27 in the video, you can hear the sound of Van Dyke's tendon snapping, a sound so loud she thought it was a gunshot. She managed to limp into a chair and asks her seven-year-old for ice.
The determined fitness fanatic took her 6-month recovery sentence from doctors and shaved it down to three.
