Is There Water on Dwarf Planet Ceres?

As NASA's Dawn satellite was launched, researchers hoped it would one day shed new light on the largest object in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter.

With an atmosphere and observable water vapor, Ceres has now been observed with water ice collecting in one crater. In fact, Ceres might have a large quantity of water inside its mantle, located near its dense core. One hypothesis is that Ceres, if composed of 25% water, would have more fresh water than all combined fresh water reserves in the entirety of Earth.
