Oprah Winfrey brought the 2018 Golden Globes to a halt when she gave one of the most powerful speeches at the awards ceremony that we've ever heard, as she became the first black woman to receive the Cecil B. Demille award.
"And I'm especially proud and inspired by all the women who have felt strong enough and empowered enough to speak up and share their personal stories," the media mogul told the audience. "Each of us in this room are celebrated because of the stories that we tell, and this year we became the story."
Winfrey continued: "But it's not just a story affecting the entertainment industry. It's one that transcends any culture, geography, race, religion, politics, or workplace. So I want tonight to express gratitude to all the women who have endured years of abuse and assault because they, like my mother, had children to feed and bills to pay and dreams to pursue."
During the monologue that called out sexual predators and told them that their time was up, many listeners thought about big-time movie exec Harvey Weinstein, who's been accused by dozens of women for sexual assault and harassment. However, recording artist Seal didn't appreciate Winfrey's speech. In fact, the singer called her out for it because he said that she knew about Weinstein's ways for years. Take a look at Seal's IG post about Winfrey supposed hypocrisy below.
After seeing this post, Chrissy Teigen jumped into the mix to defend Winfrey. See her comment under Seal's message below.
