German Theme Park Shutters Swastika-Shaped Ride After Uproar

It's called the Aderflug (or Eagle's Flight) and it's the newest ride at southwest Germany's Tatzmania amusement park, but after catching the internet's attention it's being shut down.

The director of the park claimed they didn't realize the design of the gondolas resembled two giant spinning swastikas, saying, "It wasn't obvious from the manufacturer's sketches."

Not helping their case is the fact that the eagle has a long history in Nazi designs. Public displays of the swastika in Germany are punishable with up to three years in prison.
