Dramatic Video Shows Water Gushing Into New York City Subways, Streets

Dramatic videos show major flash flooding in New York City caused by torrential downpours from the remnants of Hurricane Ida, which resulted in nearly two dozen deaths across the Northeast, halted subways and sent one of America's largest cities into a state of emergency. At least 20 deaths have been reported in New York City, New Jersey and Pennsylvania as the relentless rain caused flash flooding throughout the region. The National Weather Service office in New York issued its first-ever set of flash flood emergencies in the region Wednesday night, an alert level that is usually reserved for "exceedingly rare situations."
