Here is a list of schools across Central Florida announcing closures:

Osceola County:

All Osceola County public schools will be closed Tuesday, Sept. 27 through Friday, Sept. 30.

  • Tuesday: Closed Sept. 27
  • Wednesday: Closed Sept. 28
  • Thursday: Closed Sept. 29
  • Friday: Closed Sept. 30

Brevard County:

Brevard Public Schools and district offices will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday.

All school activities, events and programs for those days are also canceled.

  • Wednesday: Closed Sept. 28
  • Thursday: Closed Sept. 29

Seminole County:

Seminole County Public Schools announced it will be closed from Wednesday through Friday.

  • Wednesday: Closed Sept. 28
  • Thursday: Closed Sept. 29
  • Friday: Closed Sept. 30

Orange County:

Orange County Public Schools said all schools will be closed Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Lake County:

Lake County Schools announced initial plans in preparation for the storm.

  • Tuesday: Early dismissal - Students will be dismissed an hour early on Sept. 27.
  • Wednesday: Closed - Schools and district offices will be closed on Wednesday, Sept. 28. All after-school events will also be canceled for Wednesday.
  • Thursday: Closed - Schools and district offices will be closed on Thursday, Sept. 29. All after-school events will also be canceled for Thursday.
  • Friday: Closed - Schools and district offices will be closed on Friday, Sept. 30. All after-school events will also be canceled for Friday.

Marion County:

Marion County Public Schools will be closed Wednesday, Sept. 28, and Thursday, Sept. 29 due to Hurricane Ian. Tuesday is a regular day for all MCPS schools except West Port High School, which will switch to virtual learning for the day so the school can transition into a special needs shelter.

All extra-curricular activities district-wide Tuesday are also canceled. Decisions regarding Friday will be made in the near future and shared on the district’s website, through Skylert messaging, posts on our social media channels, and local media.

Volusia County:

District officials announced that ALL After-School activities will be canceled Wednesday through Friday.

Volusia County Schools said Monday morning that there were no plans to cancel school or extracurricular activities for Monday or Tuesday.

Polk County:

Polk County Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday.

  • Tuesday: Closed on Sept. 27
  • Wednesday: Closed on Sept. 28

Sumter County:

Sumter County Schools will have early dismissal on Tuesday, Sept. 27, and will be closed Wednesday, Sept. 28, and Thursday, Sept. 29.

Flagler County:

Flagler Schools said Monday that district leaders are monitoring Hurricane Ian and are in touch with county emergency management officials.

Universities and Colleges:

Bethune Cookman University: Effective Monday, Sept. 26 at noon, school officials said there is a mandatory campus evacuation order. No return date has been determined.

Rollins College: School officials announced that the campus will close on Wednesday, Sept. 28.

Wednesday:

  • 4 p.m.: Residence halls close
  • 5 p.m.: Campus closes

UCF:

UCF is now set to remain closed through Friday, Sept. 30. Students are encouraged to safely return home after classes on Tuesday.

Stetson:

Stetson University’s Emergency Management Team and Policy Team officials said DeLand campus classes will continue through Tuesday, Sept. 27.

Undergraduate classes are canceled Wednesday-Friday, Sept. 28-30, and graduate classes in the College of Arts and Sciences are also canceled Wednesday-Friday.
