Rays Even Series With Extra Inning Win Over Yankees

The Tampa Bay Rays (12-10) defeated the New York Yankees (14-7) 2-0 in 10 innings on Saturday afternoon in the Bronx.

Zach Eflin was brilliant for the Rays, pitching six shutout innings in which he struck out six and walked none. The bullpen combined for four scoreless innings - Jason Adam (1-0, 1.80) worked a scoreless ninth to get the win. Garrett Cleavinger (1-0, 2.79) earned his first save of the season with a perfect bottom of the tenth inning.

After going scoreless through nine innings, the Rays got two runs in the tenth inning to win the game. Jose Caballero hit a RBI double before Ben Rortvedt drove him in to account for the offense of this game.

The Rays will now look to win the series with the Yankees on Sunday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 1:35 PM - pregame coverage begins with Chris Adams-Wall hosting This Week In Rays Baseball at high noon on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
