The Tampa Bay Lightning (25-16-3) defeated the Detroit Red Wings (21-20-4) 5-1 on Saturday night at Amalie Arena.
Nikita Kucherov and Jake Guenztel each had a goal and two assists for Tampa Bay. For Kucherov, he recorded his 500th NHL assist in the second period en route to the win.
Brayde Point got the scoring started in the first period, before the Lightning erupted in the second period. After getting goals from Guentzel, Kucherov and Chaffee, the Red Wings got one back from Lucas Raymond. Under a minute later, Darren Raddysh scored on the power play to make it a 5-1 margin.
Andrei Vasilevskiy got the win in net, converting 39 saves of the 40 shots he faced.
The Lightning now go on the road for the next four games beginning in Toronto against the Maple Leafs on Monday night. First pitch from Toronto on Monday night is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
