Red Sox Take Series From Rays

The Boston Red Sox (33-36) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (36-32) 4-3 on Wednesday night at Fenway Park to win the three-game series between AL East opponents.

The Red Sox used four solo homers off Zack Littell to power their offense. He pitched six innings in which he allowed four earned runs on eighth hits while striking out six and walking none.

Josh Lowe hit a RBI force out in the second that at the time tied the game 1-1. Yandy Diaz added a two-run homer in the fifth that tied the game 3-3 at the time, but Abraham Toro's homer in the fifth inning would prove to be the difference.

The Rays are now off on Thursday before continuing the road trip in New York against the Mets on Friday night. First pitch Friday is scheduled for 7:10 PM - pregame coverage begins with Ronnie Lane hosting the Inside Pitch at 6:00 PM on Friday night on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
