The Los Angeles Dodgers (65-47) shut out the Tampa Bay Rays (55-58) 3-0 on Sunday afternoon at Steinbrenner Field to win the three-game interleague series.
The Dodgers got a RBI single from Andy Pages in the sixth to get their first run, and added another RBI single from Freddie Freeman in the seventh inning. The Dodgers added their third run in the ninth when Mookie Betts hit a sacrifice fly to make it 3-0.
Rays starter Joe Boyle pitched five shutout innings in which he allowed just three hits while striking out two and walking two. Reliever Mason Englert (0-1, 3.86) took the loss out of the bullpen allowing two earned runs in two innings of work. Yoshinobu Yamamoto (10-7, 2.51) earned the win for the Dodgers, pitching five and two-thirds innings of shutout baseball.
The Rays now head west four a 12-game, four-city road trip through the West Coast. Their first opponent will be the Los Angeles Angels with the three-game series beginning on Monday night.
