Rays Shut Out By Guardians

The Cleveland Guardians (65-66) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (64-68) 3-0 on Tuesday night in Cleveland to even the three-game series at a game apiece.

All of the offense in this game came in the first inning, when Cleveland scored all three of their runs. The Rays offense was unable to figure out Guardians pitcher Parker Messick (1-0, 0.66) who pitched six shutout seven shutout innings in which he allowed just four hits while striking out six and walking none. Shane Baz (8-11, 5.19) took the loss for the Rays after allowing the first inning runs - he finished with six shutout innings allowing just three hits.

The Rays will look to bounce back and win the series against the Guardians on Wednesday afternoon. First pitch Wednesday is scheduled for 1:10 PM - pregame coverage begins with Ronnie Lane hosting Inside Pitch at high noon on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
