Rays Fall To Blue Jays To Drop Final Series

The Toronto Blue Jays (93-68) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (77-84) 5-1 on Saturday afternoon in Toronto. With the loss, the Rays have now dropped three in a row and have lost the final series of the 2025 season.

The Blue Jays got three in the second inning and never looked back, adding single runs in the fifth and seventh. The only Rays offense came in the sixth inning when Jonathan Aranda hit a solo home run, his second homer in as many games since returning from the injured list.

The Blue Jays remain tied atop the AL East with the New York Yankees with the tiebreaker in hand after New York beat the Baltimore Orioles 6-1 earlier on Saturday. The Blue Jays now will clinch the AL East title with either a win or Yankees loss in the regular season finale on Sunday.

The Rays will try to avoid being swept by the Blue Jays when they meet in the regular season finale on Sunday. First pitch Sunday is scheduled for 3:07 PM - Chris Adams-Wall begins pregame coverage at 2:30 PM on AM 620 WDAE.
