Rays Drop Series To Brewers

The Milwaukee Brewers (5-1) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (4-2) 8-2 on Wednesday afternoon to win the three-game interleague series.

Yandy Diaz hit a two-run homer in the top of the third, but Brice Turang answered with a two-run blast of his own in the bottom of the frame to tie the game 2-2. The Brewers erupted with six runs in the eight inning to take control of the game and win the series.

Drew Rasmussen got the start and allowed two runs - one of them earned - on two hits in five innings while striking out eight and walking one. Griffin Jax took the loss out of the bullpen, his second loss on the young season.

The Rays are now off Thursday and will travel to Minnesota to play the Twins in a three-game series beginning on Friday afternoon. First pitch Friday is scheduled for 4:10 PM - pregame coverage begins with Ronnie Lane hosting Inside Pitch at 3:00 PM on 95.7 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
