The Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Montreal Canadiens 3-2 in overtime on Tuesday night to even the Best-of-Seven series at a game apiece.
Brandon Hagel got the scoring started for Tampa Bay in the first period, before the Canadiens got a goal from Lane Hutson to tie the game 1-1. Josh Anderson gave Montreal a 2-1 lead with a goal in the second period. That would remian the score until the 12:11 mark of the third period, when Nikita Kucherov scored to tie the game 2-2.
The game would remain tied heading into overtime. In the OT, it was JJ Moser coming through with the game-winner to lift Tampa Bay to a 3-2 win. Andrei Vasilevskiy went 25-of-27 in net in the victorious effort for the Lightning.
All tied up 1-1, the first round playoff series now shifts to Montreal for games three and four. Game three is scheduled for Friday night at Centre Bell in Montreal - puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
