The Baltimore Orioles (26-30) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (34-19) 11-2 on Wednesday night at Camden Yards. For the Rays, they lost four in a row for the first time this season, and were swept in a series for the first time in 2026.
The Orioles got on the board early and often, getting five runs in the first. They added one in the second, two in the fifth, one in the sixth and two in the seventh to turn the game into a blowout. Steven Matz (4-2, 4.67) lasted only three innings in the start allowing six earned runs on seven hits while striking out two and walking two.
The Rays are now off on Thursday before returning home for a six-game, two-team homestand that begins against the Los Angeles Angels.
