The Tampa Bay Rays (66-46) defeated the Colorado Rockies (45-68) 13-9 on Monday night in Denver. With the win, the Rays are back to 20 games above .500 and lead the AL East by 3.5 games over the New York Yankees.
The Rays got 15 hits in this game, led by four hits from Jonathan Aranda. Junior Caminero hit two home runs and has now hit 32 homers on the season, while Ian Seymour (8-3, 4.37) got the win on the mound. Seymour pitched six innings in which he allowed two earned runs on seven hits while striking out nine and walking none.
The Rays will look to make it two in a row when they meet the Rockies in the middle game of the three game series on Tuesday night.
