The Tampa Bay Rays (72-46) defeated the Athletics (4-72) 10-6 on Monday night in West Sacramento to extend their winning streak to seven games. They have now won the first seven games of a nine-game West Coast trip.
The Rays scored eight runs in the eighth inning to rally to the win. Yandy Diaz went 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs and two runs scored, while Jonny DeLuca also went 3-for-5 in the game.
The Rays will now look to make it eight in a row when they meet the Athletics in the second game of the three-game series on Tuesday night. First pitch Tuesday is scheduled for 9:40 PM - Chris Adams-Wall begins pregame coverage at 9:00 PM on 95.7 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
