The Tampa Bay Rays (78-53) defeated the Detroit Tigers (61-70) 4-1 on Monday night for their second straight win.
Drew Rasmussen (14-5, 2.95) kept the Rays going in the right direction allowing just one earned run on three hits in six innings of work in which he struck out five and walked none. The Rays offense got two in the first thanks to a RBIs from Junior Caminero and Jonathan Arana. Chandler Simpson added a RBI single in the fourth, before Jonathan Aranda hit a solo homer in the sixth to make it 4-1, which would prove to be the final score.
The Rays will now try to win the three-game series against the Tigers when they meet in the middle game of the three-game series on Tuesday night. First pitch Tuesday is scheduled for 6:40 PM - pregame coverage begins with Inside Pitch at 5:30 PM on 95.7 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
