The Texas Rangers (71-73) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (85-58) 8-6 on Sunday afternoon at Globe Life Field. With the win, the Rangers salvaged a split in the four-game series in Arlington, Texas.
The Rays scored the first four runs of the game and led 5-1 midway through the fourth inning, but the Rangers answered with four runs in the bottom of the fourth to tie the game 5-5. They added two runs in the fifth and one in the eighth en route to the 8-6 win - Kyle Burger hit two home runs to help power the Texas offense.
The Rays are now off on Monday and will travel to Atlanta to play the Braves in a three-game series which begins on Tuesday night.
