300 new words are making their way onto dictionary.com. The list of words being added to the online database includes hangry, known as being mad when hungry; slay, the act of impressing someone; and dabbing, a popular dance move involving your arm and head. The company says the additions stem from recent trends.
Many come straight from the headlines, like Black Lives Matter and alt-right. Other words like 420 and kush reflect marijuana becoming medically and recreationally legal in parts of the country.
Food, fashion and art also provided some new entries, including cheat meal, a man bun, friendiversary, a lightsaber and mic drop.
