Blake Shelton is this year's "Sexiest Man Alive," according to People, and he's humbly accepting the honor.
"People are going to hate me over this," the country star and coach on The Voice commented to the celebrity magazine. "Wow, we've run out of celebrities with both eyes ... we're just down to somebody who's somewhat symmetrical. That must be all you had left to look for."
Still, he added: "I'm owning this moment. I've been ugly my whole life. If I can be sexy for a year, I'm taking it."
Shelton, who currently has the No. 1 country album with Texoma Shore, said girlfriend Gwen Stefani urged him to take the title. He also posted his dashing People cover on Twitter Tuesday night (Nov. 14), joking, "Thank you @people!!!! Don't hate me because I'm beautiful."
