A surfer in New Zealand was seriously injured after crashing into rocks on Karekare Beach near Auckland. After spending two hours trying to escape the beach, the surfer wrote "HELP" in the sand and collapsed. A woman caught eye of the surfer's message and he was rescued shortly thereafter.
