Man Arrested for Driving 100 MPH to Get Girlfriend to Taco Bell Interview

Palm Bay, FL - A Florida man has been arrested for driving recklessly with three children in his car at speeds topping 100 mph in order to get his girlfriend to a job interview at Taco Bell.

Pierre Jackson, 22, was arrested by police for driving 100 mph in a 40 mph zone along DeGroodt Road near Falls Church Road in Palm Bay.

While speeding through traffic in a black Mercedes, Jackson passed an unmarked police vehicle in a no-passing zone and continued to split the lane, causing a white pickup truck to swerve to avoid a head-on collision with the vehicle.

When officers pulled the vehicle over, they found three children in the car, and Jackson informed them that he was speeding to get his girlfriend to a job interview at Taco Bell.

Jackson, who has a history of traffic citations, also admitted to driving with a suspended license.

According to the Palm Bay police, Jackson put the children's lives at risk by driving recklessly and speeding on a busy road.

Police say its fortunate no one was hurt or killed despite Jackson's reckless behavior.

Jackson was arrested and taken to the Brevard County Jail, where he faces charges of reckless driving, habitual traffic offender, and three counts of child neglect.
