Lehigh Acres, FL - A mother is facing charges after falsely reporting that Christmas gifts were stolen from her Southwest Florida home.

Shana Hudson, 39, was arrested by the Lee County Sheriff's Office and charged with one count of making a false police report.

Hudson initially claimed that someone broke into her home in November and stole all of the Christmas gifts she had purchased for her children.

However, an anonymous tipster contacted SWFL Crime Stoppers and revealed that Hudson was storing the gifts at a family member's house.

Deputies went to the family member's house on Monday evening and found nearly all of the gifts that Hudson had reported as stolen.

These included TVs, fishing poles, and Bath and Body Works products.

Hudson was interviewed by NBC2 in November, when she pleaded for the return of her children's gifts. "Turn yourself in and bring us back our stuff so me and my kids can have a good Christmas," she said.

Hudson has been charged with making a false police report.
