A missing AirPod helped investigators track down a hit-and-run suspect in Martin County.
15yo Lachlan Nichol was riding his bike last week in Jensen Beach when an SUV hit him, the impact of the crash causing one of the teen's AirPods to fall inside the SUV.
Investigators were able to track the earbud to a specific address, where 49yo Peter Swing confessed to deputies that he was the one behind the wheel but did not stop because he previously served prison time for drug charges and panicked.
Martin County Sheriff Snyder said the crash was an accident, and if the suspect had stayed on the scene, he would have only been issued a ticket. He's now facing a second-degree felony charge.
