Florida's Minimum Wage Hits $13-Per-Hour

Tallahassee, FL- Florida's minimum wage has officially increased to $13 per hour.

This latest wage adjustment is part of a voter-approved amendment that will gradually raise the minimum wage to $15 per hour by 2026.

For tipped employees, the minimum wage has risen to $9.98 per hour.

It's important to note that the wage increase applies exclusively to the state of Florida. 

On January 1st, 2025, Delaware will join Florida as the only two states in the United States with a $13 per hour minimum wage, 

The highest and lowest minimum wages in the United States as of September 30th, 2024, are:

Highest:

  • Washington: $17.27 per hour
  • District of Columbia: $17.25 per hour

Lowest:

  • Georgia: $7.25 per hour (federal minimum wage)
  • Mississippi: $7.25 per hour (federal minimum wage)
  • Arkansas: $7.25 per hour (federal minimum wage)
