Davie, FL - An anonymous phone call alleging a device placed inside a food container prompted the evacuation of a South Florida Costco store on Wednesday.

According to Davie Police, officers responded to the Costco located at 1890 South University Drive around 11 a.m. after receiving a call about a potential threat.

The store was evacuated as a precaution, and K-9 units were deployed to conduct a thorough search of the premises.

After an extensive sweep, no suspicious devices were found, and no injuries were reported.

Sgt. Kelvin Urbaez, a spokesperson for the Davie Police Department, stated that officers were "investigating a suspicious incident" and were "in the process of checking the interior as a precaution."

He also noted that there was no active search for any individuals related to the incident.

Following the investigation, the store resumed normal operations, and customers were allowed to re-enter.
