Pompano Beach, FL - A vehicle collided with a smoke shop in Pompano Beach, resulting in one person being hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to authorities, the accident occurred just after 1:15 p.m. on Thursday at Ora Smoke Shop, located at 1000 S. Powerline Road.
Pompano Beach Fire Rescue officials reported that while no one inside the smoke shop was hurt, a person in the adjacent hair salon sustained injuries and was transported to Broward Health North for treatment.
Aerial footage revealed significant damage to the storefront, with the front window completely missing and debris scattered throughout the area.
The force of the crash caused a separation in the wall between the smoke shop and the hair salon, prompting the response of a structural inspector to assess the integrity of the building.
The driver remained at the scene following the crash.
Authorities have not released additional details regarding the cause of the accident or any potential charges.
The businesses involved were closed for the remainder of the day as cleanup and repairs commenced.
