Former State Senator and Lauren's Kids founder Lauren Book is lacing up her sneakers again and beginning her 15-hundred mile "Walk In My Shoes" today at the Southernmost Point in Key West.
She'll make her way to the Florida Capitol in Tallahassee.
"It has been ten years. I did not think, at this age, I would still be walking the state of Florida, but here we are," says Book.
She calls the event, during Child Abuse Prevention Month, "an entire month-long of prevention, hope and healing."
She says she is filled with pride when she sees childhood sexual abuse survivors, like herself, joining her on the walk, knowing it's always OK to tell and receive free help.

While no longer a lawmaker, her advocacy in Tallahassee continues.
