Miami, FL - NASCAR has confirmed that Homestead-Miami Speedway will once again host its championship weekend in 2026, returning to the South Florida venue for the first time since 2019.
Set for November 6th - November 8th, 2026, the weekend will conclude with the NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race on Sunday, November 8th.
The Xfinity Series and Craftsman Truck Series title races will take place on the two preceding days.
This announcement comes as part of NASCAR’s new rotation model, which will alternate the championship site annually among select tracks rather than keeping it at one location long-term.
Homestead-Miami previously held the season finale for 18 consecutive years, from 2002 to 2019, before Phoenix Raceway took over hosting duties.
While Phoenix remains in the rotation, additional future host tracks have not yet been revealed.
Ben Kennedy, NASCAR’s Executive Vice President of Racing Development and Innovation, said the return to Homestead was highly requested by fans and partners.
He emphasized the track’s legacy in crowning iconic champions and producing some of the sport’s most memorable finishes.
Guillermo Santa Cruz, president of Homestead-Miami Speedway, shared plans to revamp the facility over the next year and a half, including hospitality improvements and fan experience upgrades to match the event’s stature.
As the speedway prepares to celebrate its 30th anniversary, officials hope the return of the championship weekend will usher in a new era of thrilling competition.
The full 2026 NASCAR schedule will be announced later this summer.
