All of South Florida remains under a flood watch until tomorrow morning, with some areas potentially seeing up to a half-foot more of rain.
The City of Miami is preparing with 13 permanent stormwater pumps placed in high-risk flood zones, with eight temporary ones in low lying areas.
The city's Kenia Fallat says, "There are some areas, per se, that we have permanent pumps, and then we've added a temporary pump in that specific area because just one pump isn't going to help."
Pump trucks are going around the city clearing catch basins and coordinating with construction officials and F-DOT, which maintains the always troublesome Biscayne Boulevard.
Officials remind drivers to stay out of flooded areas to avoid stalling out.
Miami Beach residents concerned about rising flood water can park their cars for free in any of the city's nine garages until tomorrow night at 7:00.
Fort Lauderdale is offering a similar offer.
