The search is on for a man charged in a Miami-Dade double murder but mistakenly released from jail over the weekend. Miami-Dade Corrections confirmed James Edward Daniels,60, was mistakenly released on Saturday from the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center after a procedural error that internal affairs was investigating.
The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office says it is assisting federal partners in locating him, after being informed that he should not have been released from jail.
Daniels is one of three men that federal investigators say kidnapped three men from a truck yard in Opa-locka, stealing drugs and jewelry. They were robbed and tortured. Two were killed; a third victim survived.
Daniels, known as "45," is considered armed and dangerous.
